Our Mission
Women in Business is a supportive community of women entrepreneurs in South King County.
Our mission is to foster authentic connection, provide meaningful opportunities, and help women grow their businesses through shared knowledge, events, and collaboration.
We believe women thrive when they support one another.
Through in-person events, ongoing community engagement, and intentional visibility, WIB offers a space where business owners can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Meet Shelley
Women in Business was founded by Shelley Hansen, who has a big heart for building relationships, strengthening community, and helping others grow.
Shelley’s vision for WIB began with a simple idea: when women come together to support each other, incredible things happen.
When she’s not cheering on fellow entrepreneurs, you’ll find her enjoying local events, working with clients, and traveling with her husband, Dan.
Shelley brings warmth, energy, and a deep sense of purpose to everything she does.
That spirit is woven into the heart of Women in Business.
Giving Back
All profits from Women in Business membership fees are donated to the South King County chapter of 100 Women Who Care, a local giving group making a real difference in our community. This inspiring network of women meets quarterly, combining their donations to support nonprofits serving Covington, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, and nearby areas. It's a simple way to give generously, and we’re proud to be part of their mission.
